Wanderer's Market
The Wanderer’s Market is a bustling, open-air bazaar located near the center of Ardev. Stalls and tents are set up haphazardly, selling everything from basic provisions and survival gear to exotic trinkets and dubious maps of the Mournland. Merchants from Breland and beyond haggle loudly, their goods ranging from fine Brelish textiles to mysterious relics scavenged from ruined lands. Adventurers can find rare components, enchanted trinkets, or just the right guide for a perilous journey. It's the perfect place to gather rumors or barter for something unexpected.
Tarrik “Quickfingers” Malor (Shady Merchant): A wiry human with a slick smile, Tarrik is always looking to make a quick coin, often dealing in less-than-legal goods. He might have a stolen item or forged documents that could be useful to the party, but trusting him comes with a price.
Sylra Everspring (Herbalist): A gnome herbalist with a vibrant collection of rare plants, Sylra is knowledgeable about alchemical ingredients and potion crafting. She’s willing to trade with adventurers, especially if they can bring her something exotic from the Mournland or the nearby woods.
Jorgan Flint (Relic Hunter): A grizzled old man who sells mysterious trinkets and maps of the Mournland. Jorgan’s artifacts are sometimes genuine, and he has a knack for knowing where lost ruins might be found. He might ask for a share of the spoils if he gives the party a lead.
Mira Weaver (Traveling Clothier): A cheerful Brelish woman who sells clothing and repairs gear at her stall. Mira is a good listener and often hears gossip from caravans passing through. She’s also looking for a lost heirloom, a necklace she suspects was stolen by a local thief.
Garvok Stonefist (Blacksmith): A half-orc blacksmith with a booming voice, Garvok provides weapons and repairs for those who pass through the market. He’s secretly struggling with gambling debts owed to a criminal gang and might ask the party for help in handling his situation—or they might find themselves caught up in it if they frequent his stall.
Untrustworthy Map Seller: A shady vendor offers to sell the party a map that supposedly leads to an ancient ruin or hidden treasure. The map might be fake, or it could lead somewhere truly dangerous.
Pickpocket in the Crowd: A young thief tries to lift a coin purse from one of the adventurers. If caught, they could reveal information about a local smuggling ring or plead for help with a personal issue.
Magical Curiosities: A strange merchant offers enchanted items or cursed trinkets for sale. One item might be unexpectedly valuable or come with a dangerous side effect.
Lost and Found: A merchant is willing to pay for the return of a missing shipment that was lost in a recent bandit attack. Recovering the goods could reveal more about the bandits’ motives.
Mysterious Stranger: A cloaked figure in the market pulls the party aside, warning them of a dangerous force in the region. They leave before revealing their identity, but their words might point to a larger plot.
