Chapel of Boldrei

The Chapel of Boldrei is a modest stone building with a simple bell tower, nestled among the quieter streets of Ardev. Dedicated to Boldrei, Sovereign of Community and Hearth, it offers a place of respite for travelers and townsfolk alike. Inside, wooden pews face an altar adorned with symbols of the Sovereign Host. The priest and a handful of acolytes offer healing and spiritual guidance to those in need, often for a small donation. The chapel is a refuge from the dangers outside Ardev’s borders, where adventurers might find solace, wisdom, or even a request to aid a family in distress.   Brother Talwen Bright (Priest): A kindly older man who oversees the chapel’s services, Brother Talwen believes in helping those in need, even if it means bending some rules. He might ask the party to escort a refugee family to safety or seek their aid in dealing with a haunted graveyard nearby.   Sister Ilyana Galesong (Acolyte): A young and idealistic cleric who tends to the chapel’s gardens and assists with healing. Ilyana dreams of making a pilgrimage to a distant shrine in the Mournland, and she might ask the adventurers to escort her, offering divine aid in return.   Karnath Nerin (Penitent Refugee): A quiet man who spends long hours in prayer at the chapel, hoping for redemption from a dark past as a mercenary. He might be hiding from his former employers, or he could be seeking the party’s help in atoning for a past crime that now threatens him.   Elder Marta Lorran (Wise Woman): A retired midwife who spends her time helping with the chapel’s duties and offering counsel to those in need. Elder Marta is a repository of local history and folklore, often sharing tales that might hold clues to local mysteries.   A Cry for Help: A desperate villager asks the party for help dealing with supernatural disturbances or a missing child. The priest is too busy with other tasks to investigate.   Healing Services: The party can pay for magical healing or ask the priest for divine guidance regarding their journey. The priest might reveal prophetic visions or warnings.   Relic Recovery: The chapel’s priest requests aid in recovering a sacred relic lost in a nearby ruin or taken by thieves. The item holds more importance than they initially let on.   A Haunted Past: A grieving family seeks to cleanse their farmhouse of a spirit they believe is their deceased son. The priest is willing to accompany the party to perform a ritual.   Mysterious Benefactor: A wealthy patron donates a large sum to the chapel, asking for special blessings. The priest suspects something is amiss and asks the party to look into the benefactor's motives, leading to a possible encounter with an infernal cult.
