The Keeper

The Keeper, originally named Kol Turrant, is the Sovereign of Death and Decay. He represents greed, and is seen as the lurker in the dark, grabbing hold of those who stray too far from the path. Every Vassal knows not to flaunt their good fortune, as doing so too loudly might draw the attention, and jealousy, of the Keeper. The Keeper alone has the ability to intercept a soul before it reaches Dolurrh, and add it to his hoard. It is believed that a soul claimed by the Keeper can never be recovered.   The Keeper is a patron to those who put personal gain and self interest above everything else, regardless of the cost to others. Someone who invokes the Keeper has no qualms about being the villain. He is also known for his propensity and willingness to make deals, which his priests make on his behalf.   He is the son of Onatar and Olladra, and the brother of Kol Korran. He is often depicted as a gaunt or fat human, a lich, or sometimes a skeletal dragon.
