Overlook

Overlook is one of the largest residential districts in Sharn. The remarkably unremarkable stonework creates a vast sea of grey that can be disconcerting, especially taken in context of the rest of the city. The construction of the district was primarily funded by the ir'Tain family, who were more interested in getting value for their gold than on pretty aesthetics. Whilst the buildings and apartments in Overlook may not be as pleasant as those found in Lower Northedge, they are affordable and are far safer than the wards below.   Over the years, Overlook has attracted a significant Adaran and Kalashtar community, and the district draws most of the kalashtar who come to Sharn. There are no inns to be found in Overlook, but the Adarans take care of their own. Adarans who come to Overlook can usually find shelter with one of the local families.   Adarans make up only about a third of the population of the district. The rest of the population are humans, halflings and dwarves who work in Upper or Middle Dura.

The Gathering Light

The Adarans are mostly concentrated on the northern edge of Overlook, in a neighborhood they refer to as Fan Adar ("Small Adar" in Riedran). They've pooled their resources together to rent a large hall, which they call the Gathering Light. This hall serves as an anchor for the community. During the day, it functions as a school, where people come to study Adaran martial arts and meditation techniques. In the evenings, they gather to celebrate their heritage. Some nights they sing, and dance. Some nights other forms of art play a dominant role, while some nights involve serious discussions of philosophy, metaphysics, or current events.   Selkatari leads instruction on Adaran martial arts and meditation through movement, whilst Hanamelk leads meditation and philosophical discussions.

Hilatashka

Hidden away in the shadows of northern Overlook, the Hilatashka restaurant serves Adaran cuisine. The meals are reasonably priced, around 6 cp per person, and the quality is exceptional. The menu is entirely vegetarian, and mostly consists of cold dishes and soups prepared with a variety of subtle spices. Kalashtar have an exceptionally well developed sense of taste, and their food caters to this delicate palate with subtle flavours. This can sometimes lead those from other cultures to consider their food to be bland, but with time they can come to appreciate the subtle flavours that make Adaran cuisine.

Shrine of il-Yannah

On a small parapet at the top of the tallest tower in northern Overlook lies the shrine of il-Yannah, the Path of Light. From the breathtaking views to the Sarlonan incense, the shrine radiates a sense of calm, otherworldly peace. The walls and floor are covers with tapestries adorned with intricate, labyrinthine patterns which add to the exotic nature of the place. The shrine is tended to by the Enlightened Havakhad.
