Eldritch Groves

The Eldritch Groves are one of Aundair's main forests. The woods dominate the province of Larunor, but also spill out into the surrounding lands.
The outskirts of the Groves are relatively tame, and the surrounding villages use the land for timber, hunting and foraging. There are superstitions about the deeper woods, however, and they are generally avoided by the locals. There are stories of people wandering too far into the woods and never returning, and the stories are exacerbated by a sudden change in the environment the deeper into the woods you go. Light doesn't seem to penetrate the canopy as well as it should, and there are reports of strange creatures lurking in the dark.
