SHARN—Terror rippled through the Adaran community in Overlook earlier this week when an honest-to-goodness dragon attacked the neighbourhood of Fan Adar. Thankfully, the Sharn Watch were tipped off to the coming danger, and there was a heavier than normal watch presence within the neighbourhood to fight off the monster.
For some reason, the dragon was particularly targeting the Kalashtar population within the district. It had hired a gang from Malleon's Gate, which we have been informed were known as the Longtooth, to attack the district and kidnap as many kalashtar as they could. Prior to the attack, this gang had kidnapped three kalashtar from their homes, and unfortunately two of those were found dead in Malleon's Gate.
Tragically, several members of the Sharn Watch were killed in defense of Fan Adar. The community were warned of the impending threat by a party of adventurers working for the Clifftop Adventurer's Guild, though they were not on a guild contract at the time. These individuals heroically fought the dragon head on when it arrived, and we can likely thank them for preventing loss of life on a much larger scale.
Whilst this event is certainly scary, and many are concerned about what this may mean for the future, we believe there is a lesson to be learned here. The dragon was repelled because multiple disparate groups of people, from widely different backgrounds, banded together and supported each other in presenting a unified front of opposition. Sources on the scene also reported the presence of a flight of harpies fighting the dragon, a people who are not often seen in that part of the city. Our communities rallied around our most vulnerable, and together they brought down a dragon!
