Beast of Ghalt

Following the Silver Crusade about 160 years ago, Aundair was hit by a stream of killings, seemingly mauled by wild animals. Given that this was following the Silver Crusade, the people assumed that a werewolf was behind it, and the Church of the Silver Flame hunted tirelessly for it.
The Beast was never found, and it seemed to specifically target followers of the Silver Flame. Stories were conflicted, and it's uncertain if there was a single creature perpetrating the killings, or if it was the work of multiple animals. The beast (or beasts) didn't kill indiscriminately, specifically targeting adherents of the Silver Flame, and also anyone that tried to stop it. This tendency to leave witnesses meant that physical descriptions of the beast were fairly consistent, describing it as a white-grey furred wolf, as big as a bear and with a startling intelligence to it's eyes.
The killings stopped abruptly roughly 30 years ago, and the identity and true nature of the Beast remain a mystery.
