Arcanix

Arcanix is a farming village in western Aundair on the shore of Lake Galifar.
Above the village float the four Floating Towers of Arcanix. These monolithic structures hover, untroubled by the weather and unmoving. The towers house mentors and students, exploring and unlocking the mysteries of magic as they have done since the Arcane Congress was founded almost 1,000 years ago.
The Floating Towers of Arcanix contain numerous classrooms and laboratories, dormitories for students, and apartments for mentors. The libraries hold the collected lore of generations of wizards, and hidden vaults house great and sometimes dangerous treasures. The village that stretches out below the towers is primarily concerned with farming, and produces the food, clothing, and other materials that the Arcane Congress need for their work. Most people who travel to the floating towers do so by magical means, but if that's not an option then the village rents hippogriffs to carry people to and from the towers, for a price.

The Floating Towers of Arcanix

Two of the towers, Glarehold and Amberwall, are devoted to training magewrights and wizards, and contain the class rooms and communal laboratories. The other two towers, Nocturnas and Skyreach, are the residential towers. These towers contain the apartments, libraries and private laboratories of the members of the Arcane Congress. The architects that built the towers weren't (and aren't) constrained by raw square footage within the walls of the towers, and many of the rooms exist extradimensionally. As a result of this, each tower has significantly more space inside of them than a conventionally built castle would.
The towers are too vast to make an accurate map, as any such map would be out of the date by the time it was completed. This is especially true in the residential towers, as the wizards that live there are constantly making magical alterations to their quarters.
