Arthuun & Gellreach

Arthuun & Gellreach are small towns located along the eastern bank of the Torlaac River. Prior to the formation of Darguun, they were sleepy river towns whose inhabitants lived simple lives. Now the towns acts as important trade hubs, moving both imports and exports along the Torlaac River. Still small towns of less than 1,000 people, both Arthuun & Gellreach could be on the verge of rapid expansion if Wyvernskull completes its larger docks and trade increases.   Both towns are technically under the dominion of the Marguul Clan, yet no official political arm is set up to govern these towns. Due to Zuvrun Marguul's paranoia and focus on controlling Wyvernskull, he has left the two river towns to their own devices save for the trade establishment on the river's banks.   Arthuun The older of the two cities, Arthuun was a river town built by the people of Cyre as a small hub for river trade and traffic moving north from Wyvernskull. With the goblinoids expansion of Darguun's only seaport, Arthuun has increased in population and importance. As trade flows north along the Torlaac River, goods will be offloaded in Arthuun and then sent over land to the wonderous city of Shae Joridal, and the far east city Rheklor, which borders The Khraal jungle. Arthuun's existence is closely tied to Wyvernskull and Gellreach, and with a population of 1,000 inhabitants it is certainly growing.   Gellreach Far newer than its neighbor, Arthuun, Gellreach was built in the last twenty years by the goblinoids that took the nation from Cyre during The Last War. With the goblinoids expansion of Darguun's only seaport, Gellreach has increased in population and importance. As trade flows north along the Torlaac River, goods will be offloaded in Gellreach and then dispatched over land to Brookentoth and Ghaal'tash, were they are moved further north to the larger cities and capital of Rhukaan Draal. Gellreach's existence is closely tied to Wyvernskull and Arthuun, and with a population of 1,000 inhabitants it is certainly growing.   Arthuun Docks & Marina Run by the bugbear Dik, and his goblin assistant Slold, the docks serve as the only 'official' recognition of the Marguul Clan's control. Dik is lazy and incompetent, but is a hulking Bugbear whose mere sight is intimidating. Slold is the 'brains' behind the operation and keeps everything running. In fact Slold, along with his brother Kleat who holds a similar post in Gellreach, are slowly exerting control over the town as the both run the local taverns and upstart shops in their respective towns. Slold and his brother speak in short, quick sentences and are shrewd business people, always looking for ways to 'invest' their growing fortunes. The goblin brothers' enterprise is small for now, but could rapidly grow if conditions are right.    Gellreach Docks & Marina Run by the bugbear Vonn, and his goblin assistant Kleat, the docks serve as the only 'official' recognition of the Marguul Clan's control. Vonn keeps a watchful eye on the comings and goings of all trade and likes to 'cherry-pick' from shipments, skimming the finest items or foods for himself. He is smart, and truly the only established person of power in town, so he can easily get away with it. His assistant Kleat keeps detailed notes on Vonn, in case he ever needs to get rid of him. In fact Kleat, along with his brother Slold who holds a similar post in Gellreach, are slowly exerting control over the town as the both run the local taverns and upstart shops in their respective towns. Kleat and his brother speak in short, quick sentences and are shrewd business people, always looking for ways to 'invest' their growing fortunes. The goblin brothers' enterprise is small for now, but could rapidly grow if conditions are right.   Golden Goblin Inns Run by Slold (in Arthuun) and Kleat (in Gellreach), the Golden Goblin Inns are an upstart tavern and inn roughly modeled after House Ghallanda's Golden Dragon Inn. This far south in a nation like Darguun is unlikely to catch the ire of House Ghallanda's for using their moniker, yet expansion of these inns may prove troublesome. Each inn (there is only two right now) has a bar serving drinks and food, rooms for the night with at least one 'luxury' room, and a stage for entertainers. Anyone with talent may stay free if willing to perform and help draw in a crowd. While the innkeepers work the docks in the day time, they will be at their Inns after work. Once a month, one will travel to the others town to exchange secrets or updates on the business. When away or at work there is a hired hand helping out.
