Alethra Kessler

Originally from Karrnath, the orphan Alethra befriended a blink dog as a very young child, barely able to talk. One day, while walking with the dog, whom she named Trace, it led her deeper into the forest than she had ever been, to an area with which she was not familiar. The two crossed the barrier into Thelanis, the Feywild, and stumbled upon an Eladrin fortress. Thinking the dog meant to hurt the child, an elf guard shot an arrow into Trace, injuring him. Astonished by the immediate and fierce defense of the dog by this tiny human child, the elf helped her heal the dog, and the Eladrin adopted Alethra and welcomed her into Taer Syraen. Now, as an adult, she has reentered the Material Plane as a defender of the Silver Wood. She enters Thaliost only occasionally to purchase supplies and connect somewhat to the human world. She bears the Mark of the Sentinel dragonmark.
