Cernussus - God of the Wild (Sir-Nuss-us)

CERNUSSUS

Known as: The God of the Wild, The Horned One, God of the Forests
Cernussus is one of the primordial gods of Eashar, alongside his siblings Danu, Belenus, Ernmas & Viridios. Also known as the God of the Wild, Cernunnus is credited with the creation of the landscapes, flora and fauna of Eashar however they were not his first creations - that credit goes to the demons, fiends & dragons. Cernussus is the sole founder of the Moon Tree lineage.   The story of Cernussus is one of wild imagination, inspiration, love and bitterness. As his siblings began to pair in their work, Cernussus was left alone and in this darkness, he flooded the world with entropy.   The other gods became to create works of light, strength and beauty - the elves, humans & dwarves. His siblings scoffed at the disfigured works of Cernussus and soon their creations followed suit. Demons, fey and even dragons were hunted and killed by the thousands. Even the wildlife of the world was enslaved and domesticated - as if they were lesser beings.   Pleas to his siblings fell on deaf ears & Cernussus grew angry and bitter. In the shadows, he sought to show his power - and through Orc and Goblin, embued with his malace, a wave of chaos was unleashed across Eashar.   This is one of the precursors to the War of the Gods, but not the cause. It created fractures within the partnerships of the Sun Tree & Tree of Shadows with some feeling Cernussus anger was justified, while the others belittled him.   Throughout the War, Cernussus would largely side with the Morrigu & Deviant Gods, though as Lord of Chaos, his allegiance was not always assured. After the defeat of the Morrigu, Cernussus was given leniancy by his brothers & sisters - though many of his creations were imprisoned beyond the mortal plane.   Eventually it is said that Cernussus left Eashar, where his imagination was stifled by the righteousness his brethren. In the emptiness, he founded the Feywild - a plane of existence outside of Eashar where imagination ruled all.   Some say that Cernussus can still be seen stalking the forests of Eashar. The stories claim that those who cross his path are left changed, maddened with an unrestricted imagination that was not meant for mortal minds....most say its more likely they were mad to begin with - how else would you believe you've seen a God?
