When Earth exploded, and half of its residents were moved to Earthty.

Brock Gone, after having his accomplices place bombs all throughout the world, had the world explode. He broadcasted a simple message, "IF YOU WANT TO LIVE, GET ON", on rockets, which were intended to take people to Earthty. Sawyer Brian, one of his friends, secretly messed with what he thought were the bombs; however, he accidentally disabled half of the rockets, only enabling about 3.5 billion people to leave Earth. Less than 3.5 billion boarded, leaving Earth to kill the remaining inhabitants.
