The elemental plains
The elemental plains are located east of the dwarven capital. It would take about one week to get there from the dwarven capital by horse. It used to be grasslands as far as the eye could see with a single river, big enough to fit even some of the larger trade ships, through it. They call it the elemental plains because there is a large amount of mana in the ground around here. This mana has caused many animals that live in the area to mutate. Most prominently, the horses. The mana in the earth caused the horses to gain magical elements, such as the power of wind ar fire. Because of this, many people are scared to get near these horses.
But in recent years, the Fenria guild has built its capital here, The rose city of Fenria. The city has become the center of trade on the continent in just a few years because of its location. While usually, people would travel around the elemental plains, the people from the guild have tamed many of the horses in the area and are now breeding them for livestock. Because of this, it is a lot easier to travel across the plains. The Fenria guild has also built roads through the grasslands towards the capital. When the guild started thriving, they also made a port at the river. Because of the colossal city and travel throughout the region, a few small farms have started along the roads raising the elemental horses to be used for the local army of Fenria and regular sales.
These plains used to be avoided at all costs but because of the effort of a small group of people it has grown into on of the largest trade routes and even a tourist destination.
Localized Phenomena
Because of all the mana in the ground, many animals in the area have gained different magical elements. The horses are the best example of this because they are the largest and strongest animals in the area they gained the most from this. some of the highest ranking people on the continent own some of the elemental horses bred by the Fenria guild.
