Duala

2nd king of the Mythological Kingdom of Anon.   Preceded by: Thala.   Succeeded by: Brass, 1st reign.   Succeeded by: Nagda, 2nd reign.   Born: 2365 B.O.C.   Died 2094 B.O.C. (aged 271)   Reign: 2295-2294 B.O.C. (1 year)   2nd Reign: 2284-2096 B.O.C. (188 years)   Father: Thala    Mother: Ethana    Duala was the second mythological king of Anon. His father was king Thala and his mother was Ethana. He had two full brothers, Nagda and Gama, and one half brother, Brass. Duala was given the crown after his father abdicated.   A human called Darath had risen an army and wanted the crown of Anon to be a human crown and not a Finnan one. A great battle ensued but Duala was to great of a tactician and a fighter for the humans. The human army was being crushed. Duala personally slayed Darath by stabbing him through the gut with his great sword. It was after this moment that Darath's most feared soldier stepped forward to challenge Duala. This was the human champion known as Gareth. Even though the battle was won, Duala accepted Garath's challenge. Gareth was a huge man, the size of at least 2 fully grown men. He wielded a great battle axe no other human would have been able to carry. The two faced off and to the utter surprise to everyone Duala was defeated. Gareth brought his axe down upon Duala from above. Duala raised his shield to block but the axe went straight through it, slicing Duala's arm off at the shoulder.   Even though Duala was defeated in the challenge the humans lost the war. As a consolation for defeating Duala the remaining humans of the revolt were granted the lands of the East to do with as they liked, free from Finnan control. They settled there and called their new human kingdom Garetha after their campion. Gareth was crowned the first king of the Kingdom of Garetha and the people there today still claim their ancestry from him.   Duala's wounds were healed by Finnan magic but since he had lost his arm he was no longer considered worthy to rule over the kingdom on Anon. So the crown went to his half-Turuc half-brother, Brass.   Brass was a terrible king who secretly conspired with Loth to bring about the destruction of the Finnan's. During Brass's reign Duala was appointed meaningless tasks and roles that were deemed humiliating for someone of such a rank. There was a growing wish among the high ranking Finnan's to reinstate Duala as king as they feared Brass could betray them. However, Duala still had an arm missing and in Finnan tradition anyone who is imperfect can not rule. So the great Finnan physician and also nephew of Duala, Kane set about fixing Duala a new arm. He enlisted the help of the great blacksmith Joyca and together they fitted Duala with a working Bronze arm.   Directly after, Duala with the support of all the high ranking Finnan's took the crown from Brass and was once again, king of Anon. Brass fled to Danon to join the Turuc's and sworn fealty to King Loth. Later, his bronze arm was replaced by an arm that was made of flesh and blood and attached using ancient magic. This new arm was crafted by Kane's son Malik.   Duala would rule for many more years as king in a period of mostly peace. Throughout all these years of peace, Loth was planning his invasion of Anon. When the inevitable second war with the Turuc's was looming Duala chose to abdicate and give crown to his brother Nagda. Duala was unable to bear children and chose to never take a wife.   When the great war came Duala fought by his brothers side as a commander. During the battle he personally found himself up against Loth. Loth proved to skilled and powerful for Duala, so Duala lost the fight. Duala was injured and broken on the battlefield. Loth gave him the option to live if he called him king of all the lands. Duala refused so Loth picked up Duala's own sword and decapitated him with it.
