As a mutant, Umbra possesses the ability to teleport and phase through matter using shadows, making him a formidable and elusive adversary. His proficiency with blades, particularly swords, adds a deadly edge to his combat skills. Umbra's enigmatic persona extends to his identity, concealed from public knowledge, rendering him a ghost on surveillance systems. Though inclined to solitude and silence, he acknowledges the importance of teamwork within the X-Men when the need arises. As he grapples with his past and strives to redeem himself, Umbra becomes a mysterious yet valuable asset within the ranks of the X-Men.
