Hyūga
The Hyūga Clan (日向一族, Hyūga Ichizoku) is one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure, as well as the strongest clan in the village. All members born into this clan possess the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai that gives them extended fields of vision and the ability to see through solid objects and even the chakra circulatory system, amongst other things. Members of this clan also possess an innate ability that allows them to expel chakra from any of the tenketsu in their bodies.
Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
- The Byakugan is an extremely dominant gene.
- It is nearly impossible for a Hyuga and an Uchiha to have children because of their genes.
- Very bright colors actually give Hyuugas headaches. As a result, Hyuuga tend to have duller hearing and smell than other shinobi. Not to say they’re deaf or unable to smell, or even at civilian levels, but they are always last to hear or smell something in a group of shinobi, all else being equal. As a corollary, lots of Hyuugas are good artists but very few are musically gifted
Shared customary codes and values
- They are extremely trusting within the clan but are extremely hesitant with “outsiders.”
- Because of the value of the Byakugan, the Hyuga clan almost never uses outside sources preferring to have a doctor from the Hyuga clan.
- The Hyuga are known for holding grudges. They are extremely distrustful of Kumo because of the incident with Hinata.
Average technological level
- All Hyuga are extremely proficient in medical ninjutsu.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
- Clan meetings usually only consist of high-ranking members of the main and branch family.
- While the eldest child is made the heir the moment that they are born they are not officially eligible for the position of heir or heiress until they defeat the current head.
- Divorce is not allowed amongst members of the Hyuga clan as it “dirties” the sanctity of marriage.
Common Taboos
- Hyuga tend to ignore illegitimate children and it is somewhat looked down on if someone “recognizes” said child(ren).
