Queen's Honey

Calliope Zar'ath, first Exalted Queen of Dalvath, famously loved roses. Her husband, a foreign suitor, had Calliope's Rose created by a mage as a wedding present for his new wife and named them in her honor. It has become a staple of the Dalvath royal gardens and it is also grown in the royal farms where they care for both the roses and the bees that pollinate them. Calliope roses are notoriously difficult to grow and require intensive, almost round-the-clock care.       Queen's Honey is a luxury item used as a status piece among the nobility, a show of wealth and often royal favor. The mead produced with Queen's Honey is exclusively produced for the Zar'ath family and is even more highly sought after than the raw material used to make it.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Queen's Honey should be a deep crimson color, but, if left exposed to light too long it becomes an almost translucent amber.

Origin & Source

Queen's Honey comes from the nectar of Calliope Roses.

Distribution

Trade & Market

Because Calliope Roses are only found in Dalvath and the refinement processes is a royal secret, it is almost impossible to obtain outside of being a gift from the Dalvath Royal Family or other high-ranking Dalvath Noble family.     There are some knockoffs that claim to taste just like the real Queen's Honey, this can be found at most Dalvath tourist spots for just 5SP.
