Forge

Forge (a.k.a. Shroomie)

Forge is a Fungus littered, monotone, Warforged druid, made of mostly wood, laced with metal parts. He was built by a now-extinct dwarven civilization about a millennia ago to serve as a blacksmith, but when a fungal infection, he calls The Infection, started wrecking their lives he was used as a medic since he was immune to the disease. The carnage that ensued caused the dwarfs to go extinct and Forge fell into a stasis. He stood inside the ruins, completely immobile for about 1000 years, when he suddenly awoke from his slumber with B1, now his companion, by his side.

    Personal history

Centuries ago, the Infection wrecked the technological civilization of the Dwarfs living in a fortress in the Samikata Mountains. Forge himself was built as a smith for the Dwarfs, after Warforged became less useful since the Dwarfs wanted to produce more goods out of greed, causing the building of Warforged to die down. Forge was the only one who survived the infection, but the resulting chaos damaged him, causing his Sentry's Rest feature to malfunction and him losing parts of his memories. When he awoke, hundreds of years later, he only saw death and decay around him. He stood still for so long, that fungi and foliage grew on his body. The only seemingly alive creature was a little bird, he names B1RD, short for B1 Robo Drone since, after further inspection, he notices that the bird is also robotic, with mechanical parts inside its body and a faint Tick Tock resonating from him. He quickly made friends with the bird and went away from the ruins to wander the lands. He noticed that the fungi on him helped him, by secreting spores into the air, which he can use to fend off enemies. One day, Forge returned to the ruins to investigate more about his long-gone people. But they weren't alone with B1 that day. When they arrived a goblin monk was standing at the ruins of the castle, staring at the carnage left by the infection. Forge advised the monk not to venture closer to the ruins, since pretty much all life is eradicated by the infection. The goblin followed the warning and left the fortress, but on the next day, forge noticed someone while they were meditating. It was the goblin again. He clearly was too proud to admit that he still needed to learn, but still came back to the ruins to be taught by Forge. Forge told Pigmug about the infection and their people. The chaos and death that ensued, but also taught him that there is beauty in decay. Over the span of 2 whole years, Forge and Pigmug kept up this Sensei-Student relationship, to the point that the goblin learned some new abilities utilizing the power of necromancy. Sadly, all things have to come to an end and so, one day Forge left Pigmug and the ruins behind after deeming him ready to fend for himself and thinking that he now has searched through the entire fortress. He marched through the lands, meeting new folks and making friends along the way until he arrived in Orand-o.
