The Lone Wolf's Claw

A Precursor pistol, this weapon features a unique nuclear-pumped laser. A miniaturized fission reactor is fueled by a radioactive material with an exceptionally long half life. When the trigger is pulled, a pulse is generated, exciting a plasma-medium in the chamber. Primed, the plasma discharges a powerful laser blast.
The reactor can power up to sixteen rapidly fired shots in semi-automatic mode, but at a price: drained, the reactor requires another 160 seconds to reach criticality and fire again. However, a disciplined user, firing at a rate of no more than one shot per second, could continue firing indefinitely without a recharge.
