Ancient Magic

It is a known fact, that the ancestors of the Fae were once travellers between the worlds and realms - it was indeed as easy for them as it is to travel from one city to another for the mundanes nowadays. However, after the Cataclysm that forced the Fae to leave The Faerie Wilds behind, this ability to travel was lost, as was all the magic once used by the Ancients, brought with them from the Homeworld. Some believe that the secret to the Ancient Magic is still hidden somewhere in the Wilds and its old, lost cities like the mythic city of Avalon. Many still seek it, in the hopes that it would hold the key to the unlimited power.

Utility

In the Homelands, magic was used to power every aspect of the Fae life. The Ancients were able to use it to achieve things that are barely imaginable nowadays, like travel between realms and worlds. They were also able to lengthen their lifespan, communicate through great distances and even great cities made of magic - or so is told.

Access & Availability

It is believed, that Ancient Magic was what powered everything in the Homelands, and some have even suggested that this original home of the Faekind was abandoned due to the sources of magic being drained completely dry. However, only mere legends have survived of those times.

Magic itself seems to flow through the realms freely, and is sometimes categorized as a force of nature. Thus, it is not so much about a type of magic, but how it is used. In theory, if enough information of the use of Ancient Magic was found, it could be used even outside the Homelands.
