Vrael Dellanir

Vrael Dellanir: High Warden of Alcamoth

A wood elf who lost his village to the Drow. Became a bounty hunter, seeking to find those who wronged him, whilst hunting those who would take innocent life. While following a lead, he got caught up in a circus attack, Vrael and a group of people also present decided to investigate, eventually chasing a cult around Peloria. This group became known as the Unlikely Lot. Eventually they lost in a battle against the cult leader; The Warlock King, Na'keks. The group were rescued however, whilst being transported, by allies they had made along the way. Peloria, though, had fallen, and was shrouded in a dark hallowing.   The group proceeded to Ishar, looking for allies to help their cause. Upon liberating a keep from a dragon on behalf of Kalri, and uncovering an infiltration into the mage city of Desseray, the group sought to unite the city states of Ishar. They founded the Light's Hope Rebellion, an initiative purposed with fighting the Warlock King. Dusk keep became the headquarters for the rebellion and a home to refugees that fled Peloria.   The group became aware of 8 stones of power, named "Corellon Stones". Using a powerful wish spell they created a map to track the locations of all 8 stones, hoping they would play a role in uniting Ishar and fighting Na'keks. In their travels they came upon the Sundered Ruins, a place of ancient power and untold mystery. It was a city lost long ago, now infested with Demons, Devils, and Elementals.   After a gruesome slog to its centre, and after meeting an ancient order of Magi, named the Prisma, they reached what they had come for. A tower stretching over a mile into the sky. After losing two people, whilst attempting to gain access to the tower, they made it inside. Upon reaching the top and learning of the towers purpose from the past Emperor of this city, they had to engage in a deadly scheme to try and fend off the demons and devils desperately trying to gain access to the tower. Knowing that time was short, everything was on the line.   They lowered the tower's defences long enough to have the Archmage of Desseray teleport in with a Corellon stone they had previously rescued from the clutches of a Rakshasa, this stone would then be used to activate a legion of Warforged being held within the tower. The Warforged had to be activated via a throne on the central platform of the tower. Vrael, having been elected to sit on the throne for this process, sought to give the magical beings sentience. But after tapping into the power of the psychic Corellon stone, realised it was something that had to be developed naturally over time. With the demons chasing up the pathways of the tower to their location and only moments to spare, the Warforged were activated, initially tasked with fighting the demons and devils clawing their way in.   From here the city began its recovery, renamed to the city of Alcamoth. Vrael Dellanir became High Warden, seeking to foster the 500,000 Warforged into becoming their own, free, race.   The elf who only sought vengeance redeemed himself from a path of hatred, finding a new purpose in the world.

Personal history

Living on the outskirts of the elven haven within the Forest of the Dawn with his pregnant wife, Vrael was filled with the ignorance and arrogance of one who didn't understand that life could be difficult. One fateful night changed this, as the forest grew silent and the night grew darked than it had any right to be. Wandering into the centre of the haven, Vrael came across the Elven Elders, looking up at the black expanse of night with fear in their eyes and terror in their hearts.   At that moment, a single humanoid figure walked out from the tree line, commenting on what a beautiful night it seemed to be for a stroll. As the figure entered the light cast from the nearby homes, his skin was revealed to be the colour of blackened steel, with eyes filled with evil intent. Seeing the Dark Elf approach, Vrael thought only of his young family and attempted to charge through the village to reach his homestead. Instead of moving however, his vision simply began to blur and shift, a fog clouding his mind.   As the longest night of Vraels life passed by, he could only watch as The Drow horde mercilessly butchered the village, a passive observer of history, doomed to repeat the events within his dreams for the rest of his days. With the arrival of dawn, Vrael found his body was once more his own. With trembling steps, the young elf approached his home and discovered the corpse of his wife, Kaylin. With nothing left for him among his brethren, Vrael instead took up the mantle of a Bounty Hunter, something to let him indulge his grief and anger, while keeping an eye out for any sign of the Dark Elves that so disrupted his life.   In his 30 years as an uncommonly successful bounty hunter, Vrael has encountered many different peoples and cultures. In particular the Elf has spent time outside the Kingdom of Peloria in his search for truth and gold. Travelling to Kalri in search of a corrupt tradesmen, Vrael made many connections in the vibrant underground of the city, before journeying to the port city of Paxis.   On his travels to Paxis, Vrael came across multiple strange settlements supposedly related to the mysterious city of Mirage, but any attempt to discern their purpose led only to chuckles from the locals about not believing them if they did explain, and that Mirage had to be seen to be believed.   Upon reaching Paxis, Vrael received the first solid lead towards locating the Drow, one that would take him back to Peloria, and to the city of Iograd...
