Drake's Universe

This is a universe that is being setup to put down the concepts and details that I thought up when considering the exploits of a character I had named Drake Reynolds. This is a Sci-Fi setting with some divergent physics caused by an energy type the human civilizations call "Aether". This Aether is what civilizations harness to enable faster than light travel and essentially causes the actual physics in it's area to become a little fluid. Essentially, the application of Aether with directed use allows civilizations with enough ingenuity to do things far outside of what would be considered real world physics. Real world physics will apply in situations where Aether isn't present, but this Aether will allow me (and any other contributors) to hand-wave any inconveniences standard physics would impose upon us.   If/when other contributors are brought in to help flesh out the universe I will have three levels of official canon: 1) Explicitly approved for anything I'm 100% on board with adding in universe; 2) Unconfirmed, for details that I'm either on the fence about or haven't fully thought about how to mesh in (I might have some back and forth conversations with contributors to hash out details or make some changes to make things more in line with my vision for the universe), and 3) Explicitly declined, for things that I don't think mesh with my view of the universe. For the ones that don't fit with my specific vision of the universe, if they are necessary for whatever story the contributor is trying to tell, and they still want to take some of the parts of this universe they will be considered as a multiverse (and if enough support behind the ideas gets generated get a multiverse branch that would be curated by the primary author of the changes.   I don't ever plan on charging any money for any of the details included in this universe and would hope that should this ever get off the ground enough for people to think it worth contributing for, that they remain the same. IE: while I won't care if any hypothetical contributors/authors using this setting have a patreon or ko-fi profile to support their work, any of the works created with/for this universe should be publicly available.
