Dragon's Pool

An Asian-inspired setting centered around the sea between China and Japan. Japanese, Chinese, Mongolian and Southeast Asian peoples connected around the sea, which is a place of Asian dragons, uncharted islands and mystical creatures. The heart of the world is the struggle between extremes- the Purity of asceticism and the Corruption of decadence. The absolute power of the ruling classes versus the freedom of the individual. The desires of the heart versus the expectations of ones' station. People will be amazing and cruel, monsters will be knowable and surprising. The goal will be to support a wide variety of existing D&D content alongside a series of new ideas drawing upon Asian myths and legends.   In this setting there are three worlds: a surface world, an underworld of demons and spirits, and a heavenly kingdom of enlightened beings. On the surface world, mighty empires and kingdoms clash. Free pirates and unlawful adventurers scramble across the world, seeking out the treasures that conceal the secrets of the world. In the underworld, there are monsters, demons and spirits yearning for the material pleasures of the surface world.
