Abomination

The world does not end at the boarders of the lightning barriers. In the Deathlands beyond exist many beasts of a physical and spectral nature. In the depths of the lost district unwary explorers often encounter these abominations. Whilst reports of their appearance vary drastically, the most common traits describe a large wolf like creature. Upon its head sprout twisting horns, and across its body patches of bone are visible, as though despite the flesh having sloughed off, something still maintains a haunting animus. They prowl in packs devouring any living thing that crosses their paths, echoing howls bouncing between the crumbling ruins to draw more to the hunt. 
No corpse has successfully been brought to the Academies in Doskvol. There appears to be only a small window of opportunity where the creatures might reveal some reliable information, unfortunately between fighting off any remaining pack mates, and trudging back to the city the bodies rapidly deteriorate. This speed of this decomposition appears to rapidly increase as the lightning barrier is approached, and the relation to the ghost field has been noted but not explored.
