Nas'de

In the west of The Glass Desert is Nas'de, a small encampment formed out of the first caravans out of the Steadfoot Pass and into the southern parts of the Desert. The 100 or so settlers inhabiting Nas'de are regarded as the greatest explorers of the Desert, having sent numerous expeditions back and forth across the dunes. The economy is largely based on the unique goods that these skilled explorers can produce and gather while on their travels. Various travelling traders make their way through Nas'de to resupply and purchase new, unique goods from its inhabitants to resell in the other settlements. Adventurers and other travelers making their way through Nas'de can expect to find a few buildings comprised of sandstone mined from the Desert and wood chopped in the surrounding area. Most folk traveling through camp in tents on the west border and as such the merchants have moved their stalls there to take advantage of the hungry, thirsty, and sober crowd.

Demographics

Largely Human and desert-dwelling Yuan-ti, a mix of the settlers and natives to both the Steadfoot Pass and The Glass Desert. There are a few folk from other races that were apart of both though the population is largely composed of the aforementioned Human settlers.

Defences

A very small group of permanent guards are paid to watch over the settlement, though danger rarely presents itself. Traveling traders are often offered lodging or supplies in exchange for the temporary conscription of their guards.

Industry & Trade

With the majority of the population being comprised of explorers, the tradesmen of Nas'de often spend their downtime taking advantage of their unique knowledge of the desert to turn a profit. They create maps as well as equipment and sell it to the caravans that pass through the area, and to any travelers that happen to pass through the settlement. These maps are highly detailed and often provide previously unknown information that one cannot expect to see in the regular clone-copy maps found in the more established areas. Additionally, one can find various specialized pieces of equipment designed for the heat and sand.
