WARNING: This is an exercise in fetishistic fantasy and motivated reasoning. In my wanderings on the internet, I've encountered artists who design remarkably detailed, creative and well-thought-out fictional setting just to justify having a world that revolves around their kinks. I think that's an interesting thought experiment, so I'm trying to make my own, based around consensual bondage, affectionate D/s relationships, and friendly succubi (incubi will be included too). If that doesn't appeal to you, I suggest you stop reading now.   .   .   .   This world (I'll think of a name for it later) is like our own in most ways. Same laws of physics, same range of environments, same plants and animals, similar-looking nations and cultures. Technology is close to how ours was in the early industrial age, but more advanced in some areas and less in others.   What sets this world apart is the existence of demons, mysterious beings that wield supernatural abilities and feed on "soul," the willpower and life force of other living things. Ordinarily, wild or "rogue" demons are menaces that make problems for people to weaken our wills and feed on our soul. Living things do replenish soul over time, but losing too much at once can weaken or even kill us.   However, demons can also bond with humans, altering their nature to make them absorb soul not by breaking their human's will, but by submitting to it. Some demons see this as a safer and easier way to feed, and their obedience a fair price to pay, but others would rather die than accept it, and even the most submissive demon won't agree to a bond without first testing their would-be master's will. These humans who master demons are called sorcerers, and while they're often misunderstood and feared, they're also the best equipped to deal with rogue demons.   Basically, it's a monster-taming setting but kinky.
