Marvina

Marvina is the previous emissary of mother nature. She's in her 50s and is the leader of the den of beasts. She was originally Lady Stanislava, a noble in the forested east, but she has rejected her family and that name.   Marvina is very morally grey. She has killed many times, but only those who deserve it. Because of her past, and because of how much humans call her evil, she has a conflict inside her. She considers herself a villain and morally irredeemable, which contributes to her not holding herself to her own moral standard. She has a strong sense of right and wrong within her anyways. Her primary motivation is to help outcasts and those who society will not let live. All of her actions, right or wrong, are meant to serve that purpose.   Over time, her interactions with people like Silva and Morrow cause her to reexamine her actions and dedicate herself to helping the inhabitants of Dobrava. Even still, there is a conflict between her and Silva over the morality of war. Silva sees war as unjustifiable, but Marvina views it as necessary to defend Dobrava. She sees the threat of the empire as too large to avoid war, and putting war off simply leads to the power imbalance tipping in the empire's favour.   Her introduction to the story is her attempted assassination of King Kazimir. While this paints her as irredeemable at first, when the true nature of King Kazimir is revealed, her actions become more justifiable. Her other plots, including sabotage and murder, all do what they can to minimize damage to perceived innocents. Her actions show that she has a strong sense of morality, but is incorrect on what the right thing is in many cases, and her perception of herself as a villain also impacts her actions.

History

Marvina was a noblewoman in east Dobrava where she saw firsthand how harshly society punished outcasts. She was going to take on the title Lady Stanislava, of the Stanislava family, but ran away in her teens. Her fierce morality led her to be dubbed emissary of mother nature. For many years she defended nature and folkloric creatures from humans, and was there to witness west Dobrava become more and more hostile to folkloric creatures. She founded the den of beasts to protect outcasts of all kinds. Around 4 years ago, her actions went too far and mother nature took away her title and stopped fuelling her powers.

Abilities

While Marvina and Silva both have access to all the same powers, they have very different areas of expertise with that power. While Silva focuses mainly on plants, Marvina focuses on animal life. The Spider Spirit can morph her own body in many ways, often giving herself longer limbs and long blade-like claws on her hands. She can also control others, though only weakly. It only works on animals, weakened people, or people who are zoned out and not expecting it. Even then, her control is easy to break by focusing hard. She can also levitate, heal herself and others, and grant herself enhanced strength.
