The Guard

The Guard is a govenmental defense agency founded by the Western republic whose purpose is to protect the human populace and to control and or neutralize the disrupted threat. The guard has two main categories of soldiers, Guardians and Hunters. Guardians are human soldiers whose main purpose is to keep the peace within the citadels and to defend from any outside threats that come too close. The Hunters however are almost exclusively disrupted and their purpose is to aid in the expansion of the citadels and on occasion deal with disrupted rebels. This organization holds unity above all else as it belives that is the only way to keep control of its ranks, particularly the Hunters. This is the main cause for disrupted rebels as they don't take kindly to mandatory service. That said the Guard will not tolerate dissention within the citadels and will respond to these rebels indiscriminately and with as much force as necessary.

Structure

High Commander: head of The Guard oversees all activity of all citadels. Orders are non-negotiable (Human position only) Commander: Designated head of a particular citadel. Oversees all activity within their citadel Reports directly to the High Commander (Human position only).   District Head: Assigned to a district in the citadel. Oversees individual squadrons (up to 12). Reports to the citadel's Commander (Human position only).   Guardian Squadron Captain: Leads a guardian squadron. Usually takes on tasks of peacekeeping or citadel defense (Human position only).   Hunter Squadron Captain: Leads hunter squadrons. designated to take on expansion missions and missions involving rebellious disrupted.   Guardian: Human guard soldier   Hunter: Disrupted guard soldier

The single-minded focus is to identify and contain any and all threats to humanity. A culture of assumulation and unity is paramount to the mission.

History

Origins The Guard is a governmental force founded by the Western Republic to protect the human populace and gather information from the threats of our new world. Originally comprised of the combined forces of considerable North, South, and Central American troops these soldiers were gathered as a preemptive measure to the ever-expanding and evolving wildlife however due to a lack of information and the lack of tools to properly deal with this new environment many expeditions were lost and several smaller towns and cities were lost to nature.   The Disrupted Generation Accords After about 4 years after their founding, the first disrupted instances of disrupted humans started to crop up within the citadels. This realization that people could potentially fall prey to the same genetic disruption that befell the rest of the world sent the people into a state of panic. This panic in turn started to put pressure on the Western Republic to take action in regards to these "Disrupted" as they were being called and throughout the course of a few months, the Disrupted Generation Accords or the Gen-D Accords were passed. This made it so that those who were found to be afflicted by genetic disruption were immediately drafted into the guard regardless of age, status, gender, or willingness. This way they could control and monitor the Disrupted while also amassing useful tools for reclaiming the world.
