An Immortal's Tale
Through all we've seen in all our lifetime
We are someone who has never died
We have seen the end of the world and the beginning of time
This is a condition we ne'er do mind
We sleep and eat like the rest
And celebrate together in the fest
We are bound together for eternity
And call ourself a single entity
I no longer breathe the air
The way the others seem to do
For life seems no longer fair
When the ashes turn to darkened soot
Put on a fair and wise disguise
And push the feeling of dread behind
Time is not your ultimate demise
But instead, a friend who happens to be blind
The blindfolds use to hide us away
Can no longer keep their misshapen forms
There's only one word you need to say
To make all that was wrong reform
There's multiple versions of this where it's turned into a drinking song, but this is the original dubbed "An Immortal's Tale". It's one of those songs where it sounds so upbeat but has a dark twist/turn on the lyrics.
The song describes an immortal who has adapted to the ways of people around them while also slowly losing their sense of individuality. Instead of calling themself as a single person, they've developed into multiple people.
Nobody's entirely sure where or how this song came to be, but it's still an enjoyable one at best.
