United Heroes Association

History

Original named Meta United, the UHA was formed in 1932 shortly after the Sikorsky Riots in Houston, Texas as a privately funded organization that petitions for Metahuman Rights. The UHA was responsible for the decriminalization of the use of Active Abilities in public in 1933 resulting in the Sikorsky Act. In early 1934, The Sikorsky Act was amended to outlaw civilian Metahumans from use abilities in police matters. This was the beginning of what was to later become more stricter laws culminating in the Anti-Vigilante Ordinance of 1934.   In subsequent years the organization has expanded to offer training to Metahumans with more volatile abilities so that they may better function in society. In 1942, Meta United changed its name to the United Heroes Association when it successfully lobbied to be allowed to let trained members be contracted to protect and patrol cites that would like to hire them. Members were required to pay a fee to the Association and in turn, are allowed all rights to there own image to use in marketing deals. Heroes began dressing in flashy costumes to differentiate themselves from others and allow their brand to stand out.   At present, there is a UHA located in or around every major city in the United States. Heroes are viewed similarly to movie stars in popularity. Top rated heroes make millions from branding deals. If someone's Associations Membership would be revoked it would likely result in the abandonment of all marketing and brand deals. UHA Headquarters is currently located in Carver City, New Jersey.
