The Kingdom Of Leer

The Kingdom of Leer

The once great human Kingdom of Leer is the largest nation of the Anvil. Built on a society of questing knights, noble kings and great deeds, it was the dominant nation of the Anvil. There, men outdid themselves in the name of honour, of love, of chivalry. But the great grew old, the traditions faltered, the ideals faded. The once beautiful Orders of Knights offered their services for money, erring from town to town.   King Leer died an old man, having spent his life trying to hold this shade of a kingdom together. Greedy dukes lurked at every corner. Leaving behind an eleven year old heir, Leer's death heralded the end.   The Duke of Kin and the Duke of Roland raised armies and laid claim to the throne. Young Leer the second and his loyalists still hold the north of the country, but Roland has carved himself a comfortable hold south, by buying off most of the remaining orders of Knights. Kin is holding a significant stronghold in the West, as well as the most important port in the kingdom: Port Harrow. Count Fingolfin, in the chaos, took his chance and declared independance, severing his island from the kingdom. With the civil war raging, nobody has taken the time to mount an expedition to get the island back. Sir Farron Kayn, Seneshal of the Kingdom, is nowhere to be found.   The three major players seem to be equally matched, but five years on, their fervor has not diminished. Each want to take what the others have, and have support from different neighbouring countries. Feandrel backs Leer the second, believing him to be the best chance at stability in the region. The belligerent Roland is backed by Corsemoor, who see it as an opportunity to undermine the western alliances. Kin is backed by the maritime kingdoms of Dearcent, Ur and Laernia, in exchange of some advantageous tarriffs in Port Harrow.
