The elven nation of Feandrel prides itself on being a world leader. Not just with their vast military and trade networks, but with their cultural presence upon The Anvil. They believe their purpose is to save this continent of ignorants, lift them from their squalor into an age of Glory.
The civil war in the Kingdom of Leer, their biggest neighbour, has led to Feandrel's influence on the West growing rapidly. As self proclaimed leaders of the West, Feandrel has been engaged in a war of influence with the elven nation of Corsemoor. Proxy wars and trade blockades have abounded, but neither bloc had let it descend into open war.
Feandrel's military, clad in gold and expensive armor, has been sitting comfortable in their barracks for decades. Their expensive and technologically advanced equipment, as well as support from the High, the finest magic institute of the Anvil, makes them, theoretically, the most powerful army on the continent. But their nobles have grown complascent, corruption runs rampant through the already very unbalanced feudal system.
Feandrel is starting to see refugees reach its borders. And as they've started to welcome them in, there are growing concerns they might have taken on more than they should.
Queen Haela the Second, who inherited the throne after her father passed on, rules with an iron fist. Her ambition is to bring glory back to her nation, but it seems like all of her amibitious projects are stopped in their tracks before they can even begin.
