Military action

With the dwarves uniting many of the different tribes under their banner, those who refused to join them inevitably came into conflict with the fledgling nation of Hivokia. The goliaths, gnomes, tabaxi and some human tribes fought with the Hivokians, gradually loosing more and more ground. Too strong to be easily defeated they were relegated to the south island of Jato.   A period of peace ensued for two years. The Aki Tribes prospered by trading with the nations south of the Sword Sea while the Hivokians built strongholds on their southern coastline and in Aki lands to control the flow of that trade into Hivokia. The fiercely independent Aki fought against this incursion and for a while prevailed. However they were still a group of divided tribes and the Hivokians used this to their advantage. After a year of fighting the Hivokians managed to convince the powerful Tabaxi tribe to join their union.   Their betrayal ended the war and seeded Hivokia control of Jato while the remaining Aki returned to their nomadic existence. Evicted from their ancestral lands, still refusing to engage with Hivokian society, they roam Hivokia as outsiders, regarded as barbarians.
