The Disappearance of the Dragons

Thousands of years ago dragons ruled the skies above Hivokia but during the Civilizing they were wiped out by the Aki people, a collection of tribes of prolific hunters, known for slaying beasts of enormous size.

Summary

Many thousands of years ago the Pokkabi, the First People, foretold the extinction and rebirth of the dragons. They placed murals throughout the world telling its story but many have been lost or partially destroyed. Most are unaware of the prophesy surrounding the rebirth of the dragons but the Monks of the Falling Leaves protect a fragment of a mural that depicts 3 eggs with a harras of centaurs on one side and 5 humanoids on the other. Above the egg are eight circles of equal size surrounded by pock marks. The Monks believe that this mural is part of a prophesy that foretells the coming of five heroes to protect and nurture that dragons.

In Hivokia there are murals that tell the legend though they are hidden and guarded from the common eye

Spread

The legends that Hivokia was once home to dragons has spread far and wide across the world. The legend of the prophesy is a guarded secret

Cultural Reception

The Aki Tribes part in driving the dragons into extinction was further fuel to the animosity that burned between the Aki and the Hivokian peoples since their divergence in the Civilising. The Aki admit to no wrong doing, saying that it is their way to hunt for survival but not for sport, holding to the position that if it was they who caused the extinction it was necessary for their own survival
