Lanetta

Lanetta is a nation that occupies the north eastern portion of the western continent.

Geography

Lanetta is a large, sparsely populated, country that consists of most of the north-eastern part of the western continent. Very roughly from about 50 degrees northwards, and as far as about 105 degrees west.

Fauna & Flora

The climate varies quite substantially, with temperate forests etc in the southern and eastern parts, stretching into tundra and even into permafrost in the far north. Large parts of the country are evergreen forest and are not developed.
The forests are home to a variety of animals and plants, including two species of bear, and a large population of wolves. There are also large deer. The rivers are home to a wide variety of fish. Whales can be seen off the eastern coast, and even quite far north.
The population is around 40,000,000, although this is low for the size of the country. The largest city is Davidson, a very large port on the south east coast with a population of nearly 13,000,000, and the capital is Lunette, a slightly smaller inland city with a population of around 6,500,000. The remaining population is quite spread out, with the next most populous city, Alveret[1], having only 1,000,000 people.

Natural Resources

The primary natural resource of Lanetta is timber, which is farmed in huge quantities, and forms the majority of the countries exports. There are also small but viable oil deposits both inland and off the eastern coast.
