Animal kind

Animal kind, originally called animalis, appear in 3 distinct forms, Anibeast , Animalis and Small-folk. Because they all share relations to human anatomy it is very likely that the ancestors of animalis were humans once.

Animalis always share common anatomy with humans and at least one other animal. The animal parts are not always hereditary and new species can appear in a bloodline previously unseen. It is almost certain animalis in their earliest form had no clear lines between the three kinds known today and were considered one species, and it is by centuries of separation that distanced them. As such, interbreeding while unlikely is possible. In some cases the categorisation is also unclear; some anibeasts are civilized functioning members of society while some small-folk are nearly as tall as a human.

Anibeasts

Anibeasts are the farthest fallen from humans. They are feral and usually aggressive. Most do not wear clothes or know how to use tools more complex than a blade or a club. Very few anibeasts are capable of speech and try to integrate into civilised society. Their posture is hunched and they are much larger than humans. They often have fangs, claws, horns and other offensive features.

Animalis

Animalis are considered to be the true animalis species and kept the original term of their species. Their anatomy and stature is almost identical to of a human with few variations. Their heads usually resemble their animal connection with humanesque influences, and their skin is covered by the animal connection's hide. They often have tails as well. Most walk on digitigrade legs. They are part of civilized society and are capable of speech, science and art.

Smallfolk

Smallfolk are also intelligent beings with culture and a civilised lifestyle. They have smaller population than animalis and often keep to a simpler lifestyle in their villages. They generally lack aggressive features such as horns, sharp claws or large fangs. They rarely reach 1m in height, and have disproportionately small limbs, this leads to lesser mobility.
