All rights to the Naruto franchise and related characters, locations, plot points, etc belong to Kishimoto Masashi and I am only fixing, I mean playing around, with his creations. This is the only page I will say this on, because it would be too tedious to do otherwise.   If you aren't familiar with Naruto, then you should go check that out and then come back here, but if you don't want to then here's the deal. Naruto is a world of magical ninjas. However, to the despair of fanfic authors everywhere, the author Kishimoto didn't really pay much attention to things like timelines and consistency. So, like many others, I'd like to take a stab at "fixing" the Naruto world and creating something that makes sense internally. My own little unofficial official Naruto world. I doubt this will catch on with anybody but me, but hey, it'll be fun I hope.   However, just taking the Naruto world as-is and trying to make up a timeline that makes sense would be boring and frustrating for me, because I am the type of person who likes checking the original source to make things consistent. And obviously, trying to make something consistent while simultaneously trying to make it match up with something inconsistent would be impossible. Which means that in order for me to actually do this, I need to make something in the fundamental make-up of the world different enough to give myself permission to re-write the history of the world and throw pretty much all the official stuff out the window. So.   That brings me to the AU bit.   Edit: Originally I described what was different here, but it kept getting longer and more elaborate; this section is not supposed to be that long. I've moved all that to its own article titled "Major Differences from Naruto canon." Suffice to say there are differences, and I've thrown the official "timeline" (if you can call it that when there are so many discrepancies) out the window.
