Addison Canterly, Lord Chief Justice, Right Abbot of the Sapphire Cloister of Magistrates

Addison Canterly traveled the Delta and surrounding areas as a Magistrate for 70 years before being elevated to a position of leadership in his cloister, an unusually long term. It is said the he objected even at the end to be recalled, but had finally exhausted all legal loopholes that could keep him in the field.


Deliberate and thorough (or "pedantic," depending on who you ask), Canterly is said to be above politics. His character is certainly above reproach, and his career has been a beacon of integrity in a corrupt, chaotic system.
Addison dresses in simple, unadorned judge's robes at all times and carries with him of the simple tools and the symbols of his office. Even in his advanced age, he is reedy and spry.
