The Void

The Void, also known as the abyss, the extending shadow, the end of all things and the great nothingness is all that exists outside of the materium and the realms of the Gods including Solaryus himself. It has existed for as long as Solaryus, or longer if Solaryus never gave it a frame of reference to exist in the first place. It is a primordial force with no higher thought but to expand, reach out, touch and cover anything and everything, returning it to how it was in the very beginning of before time.
The Void is much more than just some strange contemplative object and it has implications on Deghrom. The Void exists underneath Deghrom and outside of the dome of Sky and light of Solaryus. It has the capability to corrupt things that already exist. The void created a multitude of byproducts when Deghrom was created, mostly the un named things that exist in the deep reaches of abyssal water below. Deep underground, where the bedrock of Deghrom ends, tendrils of shadow reach up and grab, approaching very slowly and the byproducts of these tendrils gnaw away slowly but surely at the foundation of Deghrom. Such things are terrible, incomprehensible horrors that no mortal can stand to see. So they stay sealed away by unbreakable Deghrom, and no one dares to break through it, to peer at the other side.
