Gleanns
Wardens of the Northern Hills
The Gleann humans are said to have come from the lush green mountain that dominates their homeland, the Beinn Uaine as it is called in their native tongue, is a prominent symbol in their culture. Their homeland made up of forests, low mountains, rolling hills, and marsh are a major pillar in Gleann culture. So much so that their druidic council who hold a natural connection to this land are held in high regard in society. The lands of the Gleanns are broken up into three chiefdoms ruled by an elected chieftain for 5 years. Over these chieftains is the Druidic High Council whom the chieftains always consult before making important decisions on behalf of their clan. In Gleann society it is expected that all members of a clan do their part as hard as they can. In the wild environment of their homeland nothing is guaranteed and hard work is a must. When it comes to war the Gleanns fight like beasts if their freedom or homeland is threatened, but have rarely projected any power outside of their own borders. The Gleanns live a self-sufficient lifestyle within their clans and have little to no outside trading.Character
