Legend of Azuka
Azuka. It is said that she once appeared badly wounded in the midlle of Cryptus. Seconds later another man was standing next to her. They were both wearing very strange outfits, but it looked like Azuka's was damaged. The man helped Azuka out of her suit. Because of her fragile state, he must have carried her for miles to the nearest village, where only dissapointment awaited them. No healer was present at the moment. But with supllies from villagers, they set out to developed country Kattal, hoping it was not late. After a full day of carrying her on his back, they finally arrived to Kattal. The land so ahead that they have factories, robots and thankfully doctors.
So of course first place were they went was hospital. In which they were told, that they will save her, but not for free. The man promised he would do anything to save her. And so it was settled. Azuka recovered, but now they were in debt that had to be paid. The doctor said before, that they were looking for a carriage escort. Job quite easy and well paid. You just have to look after robots, that keep the carrige secure, to not do anything stupid. So he signed a contract for half a year. Each month they will go through High Hills and deliver bots to Illikant, come back with food supllies and repeat. Their training will be during their first way through Hills and begg for help. Azuka will learn how to survive in these lands and how to use a new weapon called Blinger.
6 months passed in no time and they fall in love for each other. Another thing that fallen was Kattal. But not in love, but in chaos. All technologies were destroyed, including the carrige and bot for Illikant, people were starving. It was dangerous, but they had to took the risk. This place grown too much to their hearts. They had to went through. So they went to the Hills once again. For the last time.
After one or two weeks Azuka finally found her way out of the Hills. Her companion wasn't that lucky. They were ambushed and they had to split. She was hoping he will find his way to spot where she told him, but he never made it there. She immediately headed to the nearest village. She made it just in, then she fel to ground unable to get up and fainted.
When she woke up, she was in one of the houses with a man looking over her.
"You are awake. Thank you gods. We thought you will never wake up. Why did even come here?" he said.
"We found out that every machine we made is poisoning our air and lowereing our IQ! People freaked out and destroyed everything, even the carrige we used to transfer supplies from you and now they are straving! So me and my dearest friend traveled across the Hills to find help. We need food, but we have nothing in return. If you don't want more people to die, please help Kattal!" she shouted as she tried to stand up, but she almost fell of the bed.
"Calm down, young lady. You made it this far through the dangers of High Hills, it would be real shame to die like this."
"I wouldn't die. I'm just weak."
"No suprise. Everyone would be pretty weak after this. Even thought they would slept for week."
"Wait. I slept for a week?"
"Yes. But I think you should rest even more. You almost died in our hands. If there was no healer, you would be buried in an unmarked grave right now."
"Can I have a question?"
"Go ahead."
"Did anyone arrived after me?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"Me and my friend had to split in mountains. And he didn't come to spot I told him that we will met. Maybe he came here too."
"As far as I remember no one has arrived, except for you."
"I can't live without him! I need to find him!"
"I see, but if he was captured by the dwarves or just fall in river... It would be better to just let him go. No need for two dead bodies."
"But I... Then please let me at least lead the waggon, I know the hills better then anyone here. This was not my first time crossing the mountains."
"Very well then. You still need to rest though. And we need to prepare the waggon. So go sleep today and tommorow you will set off."
"Fine.."
"Sleep well."
Next day the waggon left the village with Azuka on board. She led them safely through the Hills to where she was last ambushed. At the river. Unfortunatelly this was the only place they could cross this river, another ford was miles away. She had no choice. Azuka instructed them on what to do as she pulled out her Blinger. Weapon made in Kattal. Crossbow specialised to shoot very fast spinning projectiles. She loaded it with a smoke projectile blade and prepared an explosive one, ready to cause distration, so that the wagon could cross the river. How the table turns. Her companion was the distraction, so she could went through. Now she is the distraction. She fired the smoke across the river. Then quickly reloaded and aimed in the middle of the dwarves. The bloodshed begun. Blinded by rage and desire for revenge she massacred them. Not a single one left. When the smoke disappeared, none wreckage of wagon could be seen. She made it. She protected the waggon. Now there was an opportunity for her. An opportunity to find her friend. And repay him for everything he did and for everything he sacrifised for her. Dwarves probalby dragged him into the nearest village. So she will probably find him if she retrace their steps. She was right. Soon after she arrived into the village, she witnessed terrible scene. She saw her companion screaming as he was holding pair of some kind of battle gauntlets. She immediately shot the gauntlets away and reloaded. Another bloodshed. When the whole village was drowning in blood of dwarves, she approached her soulmate.
"It's okay now. Im here."
"Who are you?" he whispered.
"Im Azuka. You know, the one you saved from bleeding to death. Remeber?"
"This is horrible."
"What?"
"The voice in my head. Its sreaming. Twisting every my thought. It is in pain. Great pain. I feel everything at once."
"Sorry for repeating myself, but what?"
"Dwarves are innocent. It's not their fault."
"What do you mean? Of course its their fault!"
"Demons. They are in their heads. They spead through things. Everyone is in danger. You need to stop them."
"What are you talking about?"
"They want to ambush other states and infect them. Today. Midnight. Barriere. Wizards. Find the wizards."
"What barriere? What wizards?"
He drew in sand a map of High Hills and pointed to spot where they were standing. Then he pointed to opposite side.
"Wizards. Barriere. Crystal. Force." he said as he pointed towards one building.
"You want me to go the opposite side of High Hills and give a crystal from that building to some wizards."
"Fill. Force. Life force."
"And I need to fill it with life force. What is it?" she desperatly asked.
"Kill. Drain. Fill."
"Oh god. But wait am I supposed to make all of this to this midnight?!"
"Thinking hard. Feeling hard. Living hard. Please. Help me end. I don't want to. Live."
"I... no, why? Why did this happened."
"Gauntlets. Demon. I resisted. Several days. Mind. Corrupted. But."
"But?"
"If I was strong. If defeated him. I would have superpowers. You have to. For everyone now and then."
"I love you."
"I love you too. But every thought is pain for me. Please. Help me die. Drain me."
Azuka took the crystal from the building. And helped her souldmate finally find the peace he always wanted, but no force shall be wasted, as he wished. Then she approached the gauntlets. With disgust and fear she touched them. Suddenly she hear a voice. Azuka withdrew her hand.
"No. I have to do this. I can't get it in time. I have to do it. For him. After he did so much for me." said Azuka as she slowly touched the gauntlets again.
The scream again. Agony. She put on the gauntlets. It wanted her. Her mind. Her body. More bodies. Spread. End.
Azuka fought back. She was thinking about her. About him. What he did. What he sacrifised. She fought back. With her gigantic will to pay off her debt to him she won the battle for her mind. But not only that. Now she controled him, or whatever it was. It had great power. Power she had to use againts them. She draw the power to her body, gaining superpowers. She had to be quick. She turned the way he showed her and ran as fast as she could. It felt good running at this high speed and never slowning down. She jumped across the river they feared to cross. Ran over a mountain. Found a village. Soon empty village.
When she eventually got there she witnessed a hill in a siege. Maybe thats why they didn't get the crystal in time. Even thought someone would fill it, they couldn't deliver it. Wrong. If anyone would come to that place, he would thought it was raining. Until he would notice it wasn't water falling from sky, but blood of dwarves. The crystal was full long time before everyone was one feet or more shorter and the grass was turned red. When Azuka approached the wizards she had to hold back to not continue in her work. But she made it. She delivered the crystal and the barrier was activated.
"Wait. They have no where to run now. I CAN CONTINUE!"
As Azuka said, the bloodshed continued. Driven by rage she eradicated all of the Demon of possesion she could find. Except for one. The one inside her. The one that was forced to slay all of his brotherin. But they were something more that just brotherin. Something much, much more.
[YOU MADE ME KILL THEM. You made me kill my BROTHERIN. You will now feel the same way I do. AS YOU WILL SLAY YOUR'S]
Since then the High Hill were renamed to Deadly Mountains, because everyone that went inside never came back. And those who did were scarred for the rest of their lives from what they saw. No one goes in Deadly Mounts these days. Not even suicidal people. They have their own forest. But that is story for another time.
So of course first place were they went was hospital. In which they were told, that they will save her, but not for free. The man promised he would do anything to save her. And so it was settled.
