Special Traits

  False Appearance. While the scarecrow remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary, inanimate scarecrow.  

Actions

  Multiattack. The scarecrow makes two claw attacks.   Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (2d4 + 1) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC: 11 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of the scarecrow's next turn.   Terrifying Glare. The scarecrow targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. If the target can see the scarecrow, the target must succeed on a DC: 11 Wisdom saving throw or be magically frightened until the end of the scarecrow's next turn. The frightened target is paralyzed.

10 Scarecrow Cloth The cloth "skin" of a scarecrow is typically made of a tan burlap fabric, crudely stitched together. The cloth is meant to magically contain the dark spirit that is bound inside the construct. The cloth can be pulled apart and the thread can be used for various purposes. Some artificers are able to create terrifying hoods and masks. 1 gp 3lb.
20 Scarecrow Essence (vial) The evil spirit that is used to animate a scarecrow is released upon the creature's death, but it sometimes leaves behind a spark of the spirit's energy. The energy is a mote of arcane power used in spells, rituals and enchantments. Requires an enchanted vial/flask. 5 gp 1lb.
