University of Enlightened Learnings

A very old university with a great library in the capitol city of the High Elf kingdom.  They study the arts, literature, history, language, the traditional sciences, and a few magic users have begun to gather there to share their knowledge with each other and search through the tomes of the library as well.  On display in the central atrium of the university is a large crystalline orb.  50 years ago when magic started to return to the world, it began to hum and emit a pulsing glow.  No one is sure what it is or why.
