Shadar-Kai have the abilities of their parent race, as well as superior darkvision, allowing them to see complete darkness as dim light, or dim light as bright light.

Beauty Ideals
Shadar-Kai are elf like in appearance, but due to the influence of the Shadowfell are often scrawnier. Their skin ranges from a dull white to a dark grey, and is cool in appearance. Both the hair and eyes of the Shadar-Kai are raven black. Despite their rather drab natural appearance, Shadar-Kai are quite elaborate, and often style their hair as such. Shadar-Kai embellish their bodies with piercings, tattoos, and scars.

Shadar-Kai favor dark and flashy clothing, often adorned with bright splashes of color.

Shadar-Kai live impulsive and reckless lifestyles in order to prevent the onset of the shadow curse. They embrace strong emotions and search for experiences that make them "feel alive"
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Shadar-Kai often use pain as a means of keeping themselves grounded to the Material Plane, decorating themselves with tattoos, piercings, and scarification, particularly in sensitive areas of the body. These serve as testament to the wearers pain tolerance, as well as being a means for personal expression and decoration. In the case that they could feel the curse overtaking them, most Shadar-Kai resort to self injury.
