Juniper

A bush with thick branches beating short, scale-like needles similar to pine needles. Juniper is an evergreen, capable of surviving in any season. The bark is rough, with a shredded appearance, and the entire bush is very fragrant. Clusters of berries are green in the first year of their growth, and turn dark purple when they ripen in the following year. Each berry has a strong, distinctive taste. Much like garlic, juniper is so well known around the area that most people are able to automatically locate and identify it. Juniper berries are a remarkable antitoxin and stimulant to those that are severely wounded. Administering to berries to a deathly ill creature seems to have an instant effect most times, moving them away from Death's Door. Additionally, juniper berries contain high levels of antioxidants and vitamins and are generally considered good for the ailing. Bathing in saunas with juniper twigs or berries mixed into the water as well as cleaning the body with twigs of junipers is considered extremely beneficial to the body and mind.
