A magical communication device owned by Auroya Rhenyan that she refers to as "an intergalactic cell phone".
So far, she has not told anyone how it works or how it was created in the first place. However, there are rumors that one of her recent assignments was given the instructions for its use. _{Source is currently under investigation.}
The Faren looks like a small cell, measuring in at about half the dimensions and less than a fifth of the weight of normal cells found on Darwin. There is a stick that serves an unknown purpose pointing out from the left of the top of the device. _{Other physical properties are unknown at this time.}
It is black as the midnight of the third moon, and supposedly has a magical aura around it that causes the appearance to shift if gazed upon for more than a few seconds. _{Other magical properties are unknown at this time.}
Auroya has not been seen using it, but has always been seen carrying it. Some elves think it may be an object of power - a warning, of a kind, like a family crest or the symbol of a royal household. However, there is no insignia on the device that would link it to anything or anyone currently known on Darwin, as confirmed by a source in the Noche National Library.

Significance

The Faren allows for communication across time and space, according to Ms. Auroya. Though no one has ever seen it used, Auroya claims it allows her to speak with more than just her trobah, but also others who may be near her trobah, or who may possess the related Faren other than her trobah - similar to how cells work on Darwin. She claims she had these devices created in the chances that she or her other allies were without magic entirely, and that she has encountered nothing that can interrupt its signal.
