Gash

Gash was at the Breakshore infirmary, or what passed for an infirmary, when the kreen swarm arrived. As the screams of the residents echoed and drowned all other noises, Gash feared being eaten alive by the insect people. Unable to stand due to his wounds, he launched himself on the floor and covered himself with rags and prayed as he stayed motionless. Ether from fear or from the pain of his wounds, Gash went into a sort of self hypnosis.

When he awoke, his thoughts first went to the thick silence perpetrating everything. Even the small birds often heard in the distance seemed to know a horror had occurred and kept silent. With great difficulty, he crawled outside and saw the massacre. Blood, gore, and half eaten corpses littered the small town. If anyone else had escaped the slaughter beside him, they did not make a sound.

A guard who was brought to Breakshore on a gurney with severe abdominal wounds. Not sure if he will survive yet.
