Caomh'nal'dúra

A group of trappers are treading across a dawn-lit forest after an unsuccessful night of playing cat and mouse with their prey, and are rather distraught at their failure. One of the travelers, a rough-shaved man with skin like tanned leather catches whispers of a nearby creek and, after wearily stumbling through the relentlessly ensnaring undergrowth, arrives at the shallow flow of water. The others, his companions, fight to join him, for they too are eager to drink from something other than the hollow reserves of their stale ale, and arrive promptly at the stream to an unsettling sight; any trace of their fellow hunter, who had just seemed but yards away from them, was completely void. No tracks, no tells.

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

The creature most often burrows embeds itself into riverbeds, hollow outcroppings, and shallow caves, where it slumbers until the natural order in a wide vicinity is disrupted, or until it is awoken by another entity.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Caomh'nal'dúra draw their energy from the natural world around them, growing reserve of strength sufficient to combat any threats to the natural order, and as such, do not require any dietary supplements, such as food or water. However, if a task emerges that the Caomh'nal'dúra cannot handle in its current state of being, it can draw emergency stores of strength from the nearby flora and fauna in a last ditch attempt to protect its territory from powerful threats.
