Damis Sprawl

An unmarked, barely mapped, obscure area sitting between the Ultima Segmentum and the Eastern Fringe that doesn't properly qualify as a sector in the 39th millenium.   Once Ork controlled, the coreward section of the Damis Sprawl was expunged of the greenskin taint (circa M.38). With the end of the constant raids of this xenos threat, the few imperial and/or human outposts, dominions and stations developped to some extent. They were soon forgotten and left to fend for themselves as concerns over the emergence of the Tau Empire and Abaddon's 11th Black Crusade.   The absence of official Imperium personnel and structures allow for non-aligned human worlds and settlements to exist in relative cooperation with neighboring xenos. There ancient Rogue Trader dynasties rub shoulders with disgraced Navigator houses, scavenging pirates, forgotten fleets, xenos mercenaries in uneasy alliance of circumstances and coerced consent.   Why should any Rogue Trader worth his salt operate there? To either carve profit out of worlds too far from His light? To bring back into the Imperium splinter human worlds? To curry favor with the remaining Martian temples? To risk the cold becalmed gulfs between pale stars, answering the siren call of dead prophecies from dark ruin-worlds?   In the void, something stirs.
