The Clank culture is one of artificial beings (such as Forged), that prioritizes objectivity and logic over emotions. A discussion between two Clanks is often entirely goal oriented and small talk is not a thing they engage in. In arguments they prioritize the better choice over their own prior opinion, and are thus are rather flexible when strategizing.
